Let's Go Fly A Kite

On one of the warmer afternoons this past month Javen and I went over to church to visit Aunt Heather on her lunch break. We brought our kite and headed out to the field. Honestly, Javen was more excited to crawl around in the grass than he was about the kite, but we had fun.

We went to the park with our friends, the Tellers. It was my first time in swinging all by myself, and it was so fun!

Wagon!

A couple weeks ago it warmed up enough for some outside play time. It was the perfect opportunity to put together Javen's new wagon he got for Christmas from his Great Aunt Jerrie and Uncle John, Kristen and Robbie. Javen was up for the task at hand and grabbed his hammer to assist Dad in the assembly before hittin' the road! At the bottom is a short video of Javen hard at work putting the wagon together. He LOVES wagon rides!

The other day Javen was playing contently in his tupperware cabinet so I decided to sit down at the kitchen table and go through the mail and sort the bills. After getting lost in the task at hand I suddenly noticed how quiet Javen was. I turned around to find him in a different (off limits) cabinet taking sandwich baggies out of the box one by one. The box had just been opened. There were 50 bags. When I got to him, there were only 2 left. So instead of correct him, what do I do? Grab the camera of course!

I know it's been a while since I've posted. We've just been busy around here. Jake was out of town all last week so he had some time off this week. We had some friends from Texas visit last week. This week has been beautiful, so we've spent a lot of time outside. I don't have photos ready to upload quite yet, but you can get your Javen photo fix over at my sister, Heather's blog: My Blog About Me.  See for yourself Javen's love of dogs. Stay on Your Bottom!

Javen still loves the bath. He "jumps" up and down in excitement while waiting for the tub to fill. (Which is also the same move he uses for dancing. Go figure.) Though he is growing taller by the second and thinning out from his chunkier days, he still has those rolls on his legs. I love it!

He has no fear of the water. In fact, he puts his face in the water on purpose (sprinkling down from a toy) and thinks it's funny. Washing his hair is a breeze because his shampoo is tearless and if I happen to get water on his face when I'm rinsing the soap off, he just laughs! Now, if we could just get him to stay seated...

Cheerio Thief

Ok, first here's a photo of Javen and Aunt Kendra when she came to visit at the end of January. This has nothing to do with cheerios, but Javen loved having her here so we had to document it of course!

Here's the cheerio story. I keep the diaper bag on the bench in the foyer. Javen loves to walk along the bench and get into whatever may be sitting there. His favorite thing to get into is his diaper bag. He's no dummy. He knows there are cheerios in there (among toys and wipes and mommy's chapstick.) A few days ago after lunch Javen went off to play while I cleaned up the kitchen. He was being quiet...too quiet. Little man had found the cheerios and was sitting quietly just munching away. I quickly snapped a few photos and went over to stop him (since I knew he was not hungry.) He put the cheerios down, climbed into my lap and proceeded to throw up all over me. Yeah, he was stuffed.
