Javen Says...

Javen talks all the time. I mean all day long. (He also sings!) Most of the time it's gibberish (my favorite gibberish is "bitu bitu bitu." He repeats it over and over.) He does have quite a few words though. The list is more for my memory's sake than anything else, but if you're interested check out his big vocabulary. :)

Bob = Bob (his plush frog that he sleeps with. Javen came up with that name all by himself)

Ma-noon = Balloon

mor = more

ah dun = all done

ah-sigh = outside

hiiiiiiiii= hi (he says this in an extremely high pitched and drawn out southern accent)

buh bye = bye bye (he also waves when saying this)

nah nah= no no (he also points his finger while he says this)

nigh nigh = nigh nigh (like night night...when it's time for a nap or bed)

kuh= keys

caa= car

cold

uh oh!

baa be= baby

guh = yougurt

bamama = banana

His first full sentence was on March 18. He walked (yes walked...he can take about 7 steps before tipping over) to a toy ball popper, looked up at me and said clear as day, "Mom,  I need that ball." I looked around to see who was in my house talking to me because surely my almost one year old son didn't just call me "Mom" (instead of "Mama") and speak in 5 clearly perfect words. I turned the toy on for him and he gave me a huge grin then continued on with his busyness. 

He also does sign language for "eat/hungry", "more", "all done", and we're working on "please"

1 Year Photos!

We took Javen to get his 1 year photos done. Of course it would be a morning when he takes a short nap. Needless to say, he wasn't in the best mood for a photo shoot. We did manage to get a few good shots, plus it made it really easy for me to pick out only  a few poses since he was unhappy in most of them. (Which is HIGHLY unusual. Many of you that see him all the time know he's one of the most cheerful babies on this planet.) Anyway, here are a few of the best ones. Which is your favorite?

Ok...I've been trying to upload some party photos this morning but it just isn't working right now. SO, hop on over to Heather's blog again because she has some photos from the weekend. I'll try to upload some more right here later.

First of all, thank you to all of you who are voting for Javen! And on that note, let me apologize to those of you who had to click through 40 million ads to get to the voting page. I've only had to click through about 4-6 the first time I signed up, and every day since the ads have only popped up after I voted. I didn't realize what a hassle it was, so I truly thank you for dealing with those annoying ads! Regardless....we still need your votes! You can click on the links I posted in the previous post, or click on that photo to the right (the one of Javen in the swing). It will take you directly to the voting page. If you've already signed up once, you can scroll to the bottom of the page as a returning voter. It takes much less time to vote the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time, etc.

Secondly, Heather has posted some new photos of Javen on her blog. He loves to dig through his diaper bag, pull out my wallet and get ahold of those credit cards. (His favorite pick is my CostCo card though. A man after Grandad's own heart!) Heather came over the other day and left her purse within reach. Go to her blog and see what happened!

Photo Contest!

Many of you have mentioned to me that Javen should be in a photo contest, well now he is! If he wins he'll get $2,500! (we'll put it in his college fund*)

We need YOUR vote though. 

The contest is purely based on which photo gets the most votes. I think we can do this! Follow this link: vote for Javen. Sign up and you can vote once a day every day this month. I'm not sure if the photo will be for March or April, so vote every day! *Speaking of his college fund...I don't know how many of you click on the ad's at the top right hand side of this blog, but every time you do, I earn money. All the money I earn from those ad's is also going into Javen's college fund. So far I've received a check for $125 and I should have another one  in the mail for $150. Sleepy Swings

It's been so nice here lately that we've been to the park a lot. The other afternoon we were out and about so Javen missed his afternoon nap. Below is a video of him at the park in all his sleepy cuteness. (I know you can't really see them, but Aubrey is swinging  on his left and Brody is on his right. More photos to come...)

Self Portrait

I've been tagged by my dear friend, Christina to do a self portrait.

Apparently I'm incapable of taking a centered picture of myself. I tried like 3 times (the above photo was my first try, so I didn't cheat!) I just love how the flash makes me more washed out than humanly possible. Because I honestly didn't think I could look any paler. At least the rest of the picture has my cutie and his curls. His hair is turning curly now and I LOVE it!

More Broccoli?

We've finally found a food that Javen (aka the human vacuum cleaner) won't eat. Ironic thing is that when I was pregnant with him, broccoli was the only food I had an aversion to.

We're still here! It's been a crazy past few weeks, but I'm working on downloading photos from the camera right now, so rest assured new blogs are a comin'! Plus, Heather should have a good Javen blog for you soon. We went to the park again and someone LOVES the swings!
