*Over the past week I've been trying to explain to the boys that there is a baby in my tummy. Liam just shakes his head "no" and Javen says, "no there isn't, Mom!"
Yesterday, it somehow clicked in Javen's head that I was telling the truth (maybe it's because it's the only way he can explain why my stomach is sticking out now.) He came right up to me and kissed my belly/the baby.
Then he tried to lift my dress up so he could see the baby. This morning he told me there was a baby in his tummy...maybe he doesn't quite get it yet.
*Speaking of the new baby, Jake and I both think it's a boy. I promise we didn't find out at the sonogram (it wasn't even possible to know). So that's our guess. Yes, we have a name picked out. Yes, it's quite possible we could change our minds. No his name will not be Milton. (Ahem, Heather!!) No, we will not be sharing the name until the baby is born.
*In case you were wondering, no, I haven't quit blogging. I'm not closing up shop. It just seems that the promised 2nd trimester energy that has been so faithful to arrive in my last two pregnancies is going to fail to make an appearance this time around. So I sleep when the kids nap. I don't stay up late at night to blog or email or whatever. I sleep, or I can't make it to dinner. Actually, I should be sleeping right now.
*We bought the boys a slip and slide. Javen LOVES it, Liam has no interest. We have a slight hill in our back yard and it's just perfect for Javen to play on his water slide.
A little story behind this last photo: He went up to the top of the slide, said "Hey Mom! Take my picture!" Then proceeded to slide down while saying "cheeeeeeese!" the entire time.
I've created a (quite photogenic) monster. Cute, right?

ReplyDeleteSecond tri energy? What is that?
ReplyDeleteThird pregnancies and beyond are inexplicably exhausting. Unless you've been there. I so get it. Feel better and nap as needed, right?
